Pacific International Translations started life as UniServices
Translation Service, a trading arm of the University of Auckland
set up in response to the continual approaches to the University
by individuals and companies seeking solutions to language problems.
Drawing on the considerable wealth of expertise available within
the university organisation, UniServices was an instant success
and grew rapidly, soon outgrowing both its premises and the
limited purposes for which it had been established.
In order to better service its growing corporate
client base, the company entered into private ownership in 1995,
changing its name to Pacific International Translations Ltd
and moving to expanded central Auckland premises.
After further consolidation and growth, it merged in January
1998 with Flamingo Language Services, an Auckland based translation
and foreign language tuition company. Flamingo Language Services
continues to trade as a division of the company specialising
in the provision of foreign
language tuition and tour
guide services.
In October 2000 the Company expanded into Australia through
the acquisition of The
International Language Company, a long established and highly
reputable translation, typesetting and interpreting company
based in Melbourne. The synergies, economies of scale and additional
capabilities gained through this acquisition have enabled Pacific
International Translations to emerge as a leading company in
its field in Australasia, currently with offices in Auckland,
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
The company's main advantage has always been the expertise
of our translation and interpreting personnel.
With the resources of the University of Auckland at our disposal,
from the outset we immediately gained access to several hundred
freelance language experts of the highest calibre, and quickly
developed a reputation for unsurpassed quality and professionalism,
which continues to be enhanced today.
Now far more than just a translation service, Pacific International Translations offers a diverse and comprehensive range of professional foreign language services in over 80 working languages to companies and governmental agencies throughout New Zealand and Australia, and increasingly to foreign based corporations and multinationals.
