control
Pacific International Translations is committed to
high professional standards and our dedication to quality pervades
every aspect of our operations. It is reflected in our careful
selection of translators, our checking procedures for typesetting
and artwork, our training of tour guides and teachers, our use
of studio managers to monitor the quality of voice-over reads,
our debriefs after interpreting assignments, and how all foreign
language tuition lesson plans & materials must be approved
by our Senior Teacher.
For translation work,
Pacific International Translations has adopted a strict
quality control process to ensure quality and eliminate error.
All documents for translation are:
- first translated by an experienced translator;
- then checked/proofed by a second translator;
- given a final check of all figures, names and output quality.
Read our guide to understanding
the translation process.
Other key aspects to the consistently high standard of our translations are:
- With the depth and calibre of our translator personnel,
individual jobs can be matched to the most appropriate translator.
This reduces potential errors from translators struggling
with material outside their field of expertise.
- Our translators translate only into their native
language, not into 2nd or 3rd languages. Why? Because
quality translation demands excellent writing skills, first
learned in the education system and then honed with experience.
It is rare to develop such skills in other than one’s
native language.
- Our checkers are native speakers of the source
not target language. Why? Because in our
experience actual errors of translation generally
arise due to a misinterpretation of the meaning of the source
text. Our translator/checker language cross-over overcomes
this.
