Your Learn Spanish teacher

Most of our Learn Spanish classes are taught by Carmen Brown. Carmen has a teaching degree from Chile, and since she came to New Zealand 25 years ago has specialised in teaching Spanish classes to adults. She is an excellent teacher and has developed her own highly effective teaching materials.

Your Learn Spanish course materials

Your Learn Spanish lessons are centred around a fun Spanish story we’ve developed specially for these courses, which you’ll read and listen to in several different ways, including an acted out “radio play” and comic strip. You’ll then do a bunch of exercises and activities based on the events and language used in the story.

 

Your Learn Spanish course fee includes all audio tracks plus your course book, which includes the story and all practical exercises and activities.

Your Learn Spanish class activities

We first use the story as a stimulating way of learning new vocabulary, then get you using this vocab through a series of fun exercises and practical activities.

 

These include:

• reading aloud & repetition to hone pronunciation and reinforce vocab and phrases
• role plays from scenes in the story
• question & answer conversations using examples from the story
• games
• written exercises
• puzzles

The focus in our Learn Spanish classes is on practical, everyday conversational Spanish. All activities are carefully structured to build on and reinforce what you’ve already learnt.
